The Spoken Piece exists to put those words somewhere you can wear them, display them, and feel them every single day.
How It Started
It started with images.
In 2023, we began creating digital art — bold, beautiful, unapologetic portraits of Black women. We shared them. People responded. Images went viral. Friends started asking who made them, where they could find more, what the page was called.
So we made a page. TK Artistic Expressions was born — named by a friend, built by community, fueled by the reaction of women who saw themselves in the work.
The first product was a calendar. We took the most-loved images and put them somewhere they could live all year. It was well received. But a calendar lives on a wall.
We wanted to give her something she could wear.
From Art to Identity
That instinct — to take what resonates and put it on her body, not just her wall — is what became The Spoken Piece.
A rebrand. A sharper focus. A clearer voice.
We combined a lifelong love of graphic tees with a commitment to intentional design, and built a brand specifically for Black women who are done shrinking, done softening, and done waiting for someone else to say it first.
